Happy Belated Halloween!

Oh my I've been a busy bee since the beginning of the semester! School over took my life! But enough about that.

This Halloween my friend Stacey wanted to be a cool winged creature thing. So I got recruted into making her totally awesome wings:
This is me. :-) Working on the aformentioned wings.
This is the back of them. The fabric has this cool dragon scale type look to it that's hard to see in the picture.
And this is the front and Stacey making mean faces. The wings are a wire frame that stops about at her shoulders. The rest of the fabric attaches to her finger so she can spread the wings out.
I think they turned out pretty well. ^_^

We also got to carve pumpkins!

I love my kitty pumpkin!

Apartment Crafting

So I've been crafting like a fiend trying to get my apartment all settled. Here's what I've been up too:

First up, my bumble bee themed kitchen.

These cute little bumbley bees were actually an etsy purchase. Buy some of your own here.

Some recovered canisters to hold my pasta and rice. Idea from here. I think I'm going to change out the knobs too, to some pretty black or yellow ones. ^_^

Cool shelf. Idea from here. I love it, and can't wait to get some cute canisters to put on it. I think I'm going to add more hooks instead of the jars, so I can hang hand towels on it.
And now, to my tree/bird/odd stuff inspired living room:

A fairly large airbrush painting that's hanging above my sofa. Had alot of problems making it, but now that it's on the wall I absolutely love it.

And finally, one of two end tables. That's sheet music decoupaged to the top of it. The table itself was a cheapy $14 white table that I felt needed some modifying. More pictures once I get the second one done.
And that's what I've been up to friends. ^_^

Custom Order

Here are some paper weights I did as a custom order for someone on etsy:

And these are the boxes I put them in, stamped with my wonderful stamp made by craftpudding.

Echo was going to help me...but then discovered this empty shelf and took a nap instead.
-sigh- It's so hard to find good help these days. ^_^

Mario Mushroom Coasters

I'm so happy to finally be able to talk about these!

I've been working on these little guys for eons now it seems, but I think I've finally gotten the pattern worked out the way I want it. I'm so happy with them! ^_^
And, they are finally up in the shop!

Broken Computer Blues

Sooo once upon a time Candice had a laptop. Her laptop was small and happy, until the day her wireless card stopped working. All was well with the invention of the ethernet cord (although a wired laptop seems to kind of defeat the purpose), until the start up time started to take about an hour. Then one day, that day being Thursday, her laptop finally decided to die. Completely. -sigh- Poor thing.

Soooo being a college student with an online business, Candice couldn't possibly go without a computer with the fall semester being sooo close...sooo...

She went out and bought a new one. A better one. A desktop. With a flat panel monitor. And other cool stuff.

Ahh. It sure is nice to have a computer that works. I'd forgotten what it was like.

It's funny too, that a 19 inch screen was the SMALLEST I could get. It's soooo big compared to my laptop's little 12 inch screen. It's also amazing how small desktop towers have gotten.

Ah. Technology.

Danielle's Birthday

So my friend Danielle had her 21st birthday party this weekend. Since this is such an epic birthday, I decided to make her an epic present:

Skittles Vodka. Made from this wonderful tutorial. It was really a fun gift but I warn you...this stuff is potent. Very very potent.

A shot glass to drink her vodka in. This was actually her Christmas present...but ya know...better late than never...

And a pair of painted shoes. I personally love these and had to get another pair so I could paint me some. Pictures of that later.

Her party was mardi gras themed so everyone had to make a mask. This was mine. It turned out okay I think. It took alot of effort to keep the cat from eatting the feathers.

Last week was a good crafting week. ^__^

Happy 4th everyone!

So last Saturday I went to visit my family for my sister's big 30th birthday. I grabbed my bike from my mom's shed and with some clever use of bungee cables managed to get it into my car and safely drive it the hour ride back to my apartment.

After skillfully removing the large wheeled mechanisim from my trunk and rolling it gracefully -cough- into the kitchen, I turned around to close the door and what was standing in my doorway?

This little booger:

This is Echo. ^_^ One of two bundles of awesome that currently (and will shortly in Echo's case) live with my mom.

One day, I will have an apartment that allows cats. -sigh- One day...

Crafting Creatively Cute Cookies...Again

Since that recipe makes 36 cookies, I'll probably be decorating for the next month. Or I'll just eat the ugly ones. That works too. ^_^

More cookies!

I really like the octopus. ^_^ I think it turned out cute.

Crafting Creatively Cute Cookies

So today I sat down and made cookies:

The bees are my favorite. ^_^ Made from a sugar cookie recipe I found here. And then they're topped with fondant and icing to make them cute.
Mmmmmmmm cookies.
